Qualifications for this Membership

IARP professional members meet one of the following sets of criteria:
  • Hold a master's or doctorate degree in vocational evaluation, rehabilitation, career counseling, nursing, psychology or a related vocational or health service program, plus one year of experience in vocational, physical, or psychological rehabilitation with individuals who have disabling diseases or conditions;
  • Hold a master's or doctorate degree unrelated to rehabilitation, and a) five years of experience in rehabilitation services, including at least one year in the rehabilitation of disabling conditions or diseases; or b) five years of experience in the rehabilitation of disabling conditions or diseases,
  • Hold a baccalaureate degree in a rehabilitation program, plus three years in rehabilitation services, including at lease one year in the rehabilitation of disabling conditions or diseases;
  • Hold a baccalaureate degree unrelated to a rehabilitation program, plus five years of experience in the rehabilitation of disabling conditions or diseases;
  • Hold a diploma in nursing, plus a current R.N. license, and three years of experience in rehabilitation services, including at least one year in the rehabilitation of disabling conditions or diseases.
  • Must pledge to abide by the Professional Standards & Ethics of IARP.

Professional Candidate

Annual Fee: $107

For those individuals who have graduated from a rehabilitation program but have limited professional experience in the field, this membership type will allow you to begin your Course of a Lifetime at a reduced rate.

Professional candidate members meet one of the following sets of criteria:
  • Holder of a master's or doctorate degree (a) in vocational evaluation, rehabilitation, career counseling, nursing, psychology or a related vocational or health service program ("Rehabilitation Program") from an accredited institution; or (b) unrelated to a Rehabilitation Program from an accredited institution, plus four years of experience in Rehabilitation Services, including at least one year in the rehabilitation of disabling conditions or diseases; or (c) unrelated to a Rehabilitation Program from an accredited institution, plus four years of experience in the rehabilitation of disabling conditions or diseases;
  • Holder of a baccalaureate degree (a) in a Rehabilitation Program from an accredited institution, plus two years in Rehabilitation Services, including at least one year in the rehabilitation of disabling conditions or diseases; or (b) unrelated to a Rehabilitation Program from an accredited institution, plus four years of experience in the rehabilitation of disabling conditions or diseases; or
  • Holder of a diploma in nursing from an accredited institution, plus a current R.N. license, and two years of experience in Rehabilitation Services, including at least one year in the rehabilitation of disabling conditions or diseases;
  • Must pledge to abide by the Professional Standards & Ethics of IARP.

Associate

Annual Fee: $200

If you want to access the information generated by IARP but do not meet the qualifications for Professional or Professional Candidate Membership, then this is the membership for you.

  • Has held an IARP Professional or Associate membership for 10 years or more
  • Is fully retired from rehabilitation service delivery
  • Is not consulting to an organization for a fee. Retired members retain all the rights and privileges of a professional member

Student

Annual Fee: $15

Individuals enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate rehabilitation program at an accredited institution may join as Student members.

Qualifications for this Membership

  • All student applicants must provide proof of student status as well as an anticipated graduation date. Acceptable student identification forms are:
  1. Current student school ID
  2. Current class enrollment with your name and enrollment activity dates
  3. Current transcripts that include your name and school
  4. Letter from the registrar's office - The letter must include your full name and state that you are a student for the current semester. This letter must be on the institution's letterhead, signed by the registrar and be dated within 30 days.
  • Upon graduation, student membership ends, but the individual can continue their membership as Professional Candidate.
  • Must pledge to abide by the Professional Standards & Ethics of IARP.

Chapter Membership

Professional and Associate Members must add State/Region Chapter dues if a chapter is incorporated in your state/region. Additional chapter memberships may be purchased according to the below fee schedule. Student Members are encouraged to join their local Chapter at no charge.
